Welcome to Counselling Rooms CiC, we are a not for profit social enterprise company providing private counselling at affordable rates. We are based at a quiet and comfortable counselling space situated in Chorlton, South Manchester, near to public transport links and with free parking.

We are committed to principles of social inclusion, celebrating diversity and promoting choice and accessibility. Whilst we may work to different theoretical approaches and have different areas of expertise, we all offer a safe and respectful space for individuals to grow – embracing difference in culture, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, faith and religious beliefs, social background and education. We are committed to ensuring that our services are accessible to people with disabilities and have a ground floor room that is partially accessible to people with mobility issues. We recognise that some barriers to accessing services may be less obvious and we will work with individual clients to overcome any particular difficulties they may have in accessing our services. All therapists who are affiliated to Counselling Rooms offer a reduced rate of £25 per session for people on low incomes.

Choice is an important factor in the success of counselling. Not all types of therapy are suitable for all issues, and research has shown that the relationship between the therapist and client may be the key factor in determining the success of the outcome. It is important therefore that the client is able to chose the person that is right for them, and who they feel comfortable with.

In our last year of operating (2017-2018) our therapists have delivered 1,102 low cost sessions between them. This is worth an enormous £22,040 contribution to enable more people to access counselling. For more information about our ongoing monthly social contribution have a look at the document ‘Reduced rate sessions offered‘ in the Downloads section of the website.

We currently have 24 counsellors working from our rooms offering appointments from early in the morning, throughout the day, evening and even weekends. They work with a range of difficulties including anxiety, bereavement, depression, relationship difficulties, trauma and more. You can find out more about what they offer by looking at our counsellors’ profiles here.
