Isabelle Chefdor

I am a fully qualified person centred therapist with many years experience. I use an integrative approach using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy techniques and a motivational approach. I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). I offer short term or long term therapy.

I work with anxiety, depression, stress, bereavement, trauma, anger, low self-esteem, lack of confidence, sadness, addiction, abuse, family and relationships issues. I specialise in self esteem, self confidence and understanding self, as well as childhood issues and relationships issues and through that; working on strategies to solve and manage issues so you can find happiness.

I am French native meaning that I understand how difficult it is to adapt and build a life in another country, learning to live in a different culture and speak a different language. I am aware of the anxieties and loneliness which can often be experienced in moving to a foreign country. I also offer counselling sessions in French.

I see myself as a genuine, understanding, empathetic, approachable and non-judgemental person. I regularly attend training courses, workshops to learn new skills to maintain a high standard in my counselling.

An important aspect of counselling is to build a supportive relationship based on trust. Therefore, I offer a free 30 minutes over the phone or face to face session to give you the opportunity to meet me and to see if you feel I am the right person to work with.
Then my sessions are as priced: £50 for each 50 minute session. I offer a number of low cost places for those who are on a low income and students. Please contact me for further details.
