I provide psychotherapy and counselling to individuals, couples and families. The main model of therapy underpinning my work is Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy. Transactional Analysis can help to explain how we’ve become who we are and how this influences our thoughts, behaviours, relationships and outlook for the future. Therapy provides an opportunity to analyse patterns of behaviour and communications, which can help to facilitate personal growth and change.
In my role as counsellor and psychotherapist I have supported individuals and groups to deal with a range of issues including relationship difficulties, depression, bereavement, self-harm, sexual abuse, low confidence and self-esteem, anxiety and life direction.
I have worked in a supportive capacity for many years helping adults and children in a variety of settings. My experience includes counselling and psychotherapy in schools, and in residential care.
I am also a qualified teacher having taught in mainstream education and in specialist schools. Linked to this, I provide support to individuals and families in relation to special educational needs, in particular working with Autistic Spectrum Disorders.
As a psychotherapist I adhere to the United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapy code of ethics and receive supervision in accordance with UKCP guidelines. I am currently completing Advanced Clinical Training in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy as part of working towards accreditation as a Certified Transactional Analyst.
In my free time I enjoy going to the theatre, spending time with my family and walking my dog.Tags: Psychotherapy Posted by
