Hello, my name is Justine. Throughout my nearly 30 years of experience in healthcare, school and special needs settings I have become convinced of, and passionate about, the power of talking therapy. I chose to qualify in an Integrated Approach to counselling as I believe that the challenges we face are multi-faceted, and as whole beings we respond better to a holistic approach. My personal style of integration incorporates the Person-Centred Approach, Transactional Analysis and CBT as well as the opportunity of a greater holistic provision of physical exercise (ranging from very gentle chair-based exercises, through body weight and free weight exercise). I also offer approaches through Mindfulness and Assertiveness training.
Although I do not work with children in the Counselling Rooms setting, my ongoing work with children allows me to access and work with the Inner Child that lives in all of us. All this is offered in a professional and confidential manner, as I work to ‘hold hope’ with and for those who are struggling to do so alone.
I value difference and diversity and enjoy working with clients from varied cultures, backgrounds, ages, and minority groups. As a Registered Member of both the BACP and REPs I adhere to Ethical Frameworks that work to ensure a welcoming, non-judgemental, physically and emotionally safe environment in which clients can be supported to work through their personal challenges, fully protected by appropriate insurance and supervision.
The Person-centred Integrated Approach I offer is particularly helpful in dealing with self-esteem, sexuality; loss, bereavement, and grief; special needs (Including Autism & ASD, ADHD and dementia); short and long-term medical and health challenges including cancer and palliative care issues.
Transactional analysis, as I offer it, considers the effects of others and events on our lives, and offers the opportunity to explore, understand, mend and develop healthier relationships with self and others. Attachment and childhood issues are explored, benefitting work, home and parenting effectiveness and happiness.
The value of CBT, as recognised by the NHS, and as I offer it, is that it provides frameworks, skills and tools to work in a very solution focussed way to help manage and make lasting change with difficulties such as stress, anxiety, depression, panic, assertiveness, anger, transitional issues, illness and disability.
Other aspects of my holistic integrative approach allow me to offer all of the above in a way suite to your individual needs, working creatively with metaphor (play), creating a ‘strongbody.strongmind’ personal culture, and benefitting from the soothing effects of Mindfulness.
If you feel that any of the above appeals to you I am able to offer a free, no obligation telephone or face-time appointment of up to 20 minutes via the email link above. If you would then like to work with me my fees range from £25 to £50 for a 50-minute session. I am currently available in The Counselling Rooms on a Friday morning, but can also offer other appointments due to availability.Tags: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Integrative Therapy, Person Centred Counselling, Transactional Analysis Posted by
