Liz Jeffries

I provide psychotherapy and counselling for individuals and couples. The therapy can be face-to-face, online, or a combination of both. It can also be short-term (for a fixed number of sessions) or long-term (open-ended)

The main models underpinning the therapy I offer are humanistic (looking at the experience of the whole person) and transactional analysis psychotherapy (which looks at how we become who we are, and how we grow and change during the course of life).

Before training as a psychotherapist I experienced psychotherapy for myself. I am now passionate about therapy, and the opportunities it presents for resolving personal issues and difficulties in life.

I have experience in helping people with  anxiety, bereavement and loss, depression, relationship difficulties, personality disorder diagnoses, sexuality and identity issues, self-confidence and self-esteem difficulties, and stress,. In addition, I have a special interest in anxiety. In particular, how feeling separate (isolated, alone) or connected (in relationship) influences how anxious we feel.

I adhere to the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy Code of Ethics and receive regular supervision according to UKCP guidelines. I am currently completing Advanced Clinical Training in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy, as part of working towards accreditation as a Certified Transactional Analyst and achieving UKCP-Registered status as a Psychotherapist. I am also a registered therapist with the Association for Counselling and Therapy Online
