Michelle Davies

I am a BACP registered Counsellor and CBT Therapist. I work both short-term and long-term using an integrative therapeutic approach, tailored to suit my client’s individual needs.

The foundation of my therapeutic approach is Person-Centred Therapy, where I offer the core conditions of empathy, non-judgement and unconditional positive regard, to support you in working through your issues. I also work with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which is a more directive approach in making changes to unhelpful thoughts, feelings or behaviours you may be experiencing. Additionally, I have training and a specialist interest in third wave CBT practices, such as Compassion Focused Therapy and Mindfulness.

I provide a free consultation, where we will discuss what you wish to gain from our sessions and how we may work together to achieve this. This will also give us the opportunity to establish if we would work well together, before you commit to therapy. There is strong evidence that the therapeutic relationship between therapist and client is the main attribute towards a positive outcome in therapy.

My sessions offer time in a safe space dedicated to you, to explore your experiences without judgement. I believe that you are the expert of your experience, but with my training and knowledge, we can work together to alleviate your distress, nourish your self-compassion and work towards a more content you.

My fee is £50 per 50 minute session, with reduced rate fees available for students, unwaged and low income.
